I suspect it must've come up in this forum before, right? Just interested as it's something i've wondered too, so i'd like to see the original post. bo198214 Administrator Posts: 1,389 Threads: 90 Joined: Aug 2007 06/08/2008, 06:11 AM lucy Wrote:Hi, i found this quote from a post by quickfur but can't find the post itself, maybe i'm being dense: quickfur Wrote: It makes one wonder if the inverse of tetration would also create new numbers... (Hint: if you put your search in double quotes it searches for exact matches.) And my answer to the question can be found here here. Say, lucy, are you really a girl? If so, I welcome the first woman on board! andydude Long Time Fellow Posts: 509 Threads: 44 Joined: Aug 2007 06/10/2008, 09:31 PM There is one possibility, but I'm not sure. The tetrational function ${}^{x}(e^{1/e})$ as $x\to\infty$ converges to e, so there is no way to solve ${}^{x}(e^{1/e})=10$ for real x, but I'm not sure if this makes new numbers, or if its just the plain old complex numbers.
