just came across the following entry in mathOverflow:

He gives a short overview of his method; he has also a longer treatize:
Pade-method, PDF
Unfortunately I've never done anything with Pade-approximation so I cannot say much meaningful about that approach, it would be good if someone else here could comment on this.
Hmm - just when I checked for the authors name I notice, that this article was already posted in december (I must have missed this) and only something was currently edited.
